Training high-quality human resources to serve socio-economic development

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong highly appreciated Da Nang University of Education for its many important contributions to the reform of general education. The school is also the largest unit in cooperation and training of international students in the Central region.

Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong suggested that Da Nang University of Education attach importance to the work of discovering, planning, training, fostering and improving the quality of the management team; continue to review and update the training program in the direction of expansion, focusing on the development of learners' qualities and capacities. At the same time, the school promotes scientific research, develops educational science - technology and pedagogical science, plays a companion and pioneering role in creating innovations at all levels of education; contributes to building high-quality human resources for socio -economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the Central region, the Central Highlands and the whole country.

The predecessor of Da Nang University of Education was the pedagogical training institutions established right after the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, including Quang Nam - Da Nang Pedagogical High School (1975), Pedagogical College (1976), Kindergarten Pedagogical School and Childcare School (1977), Da Nang University of Foreign Languages Pedagogical University (1985). In 1994, when Da Nang University was established, the University of Education became one of the first three member schools, formed from the merger of pedagogical and basic science training units in the area.

Over the past 50 years of establishment and development, the school has continuously expanded its scale, improved the quality of training and research, becoming the leading center for teacher training and basic science in the Central Highlands region. The school currently has more than 350 staff, of which 67% have doctoral degrees; nearly 15,000 students studying in 34 undergraduate training programs and 35 graduate programs, with 31 programs meeting national and international quality accreditation standards.

As one of the seven key pedagogical schools in the country, the University of Education - Danang University was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training to actively participate in the general education reform program. From program development, document compilation, textbooks to training teachers and managers according to the 2018 General Education Program, the University's teaching staff has made important contributions to the process of fundamental and comprehensive education reform. In particular, since 2013, delegations of lecturers have been present in many regions, contributing to spreading the spirit of reform and improving the capacity of the teaching staff.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its establishment (1975-2025), the President awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to the University of Education - Danang University, and the Third Class Labor Medal to the Department of Student Management and Library - a typical unit in serving, managing and supporting students.

Many collectives and individuals of the School were also honored to receive the Emulation Flag and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Education and Training, along with many certificates of merit from localities and international partners.
