The non-specialized school has had the highest graduation exam and university entrance exam results in Hanoi for many consecutive years.

On November 15, Yen Hoa High School (Yen Hoa Ward, Hanoi) solemnly celebrated the 65th anniversary of its founding and the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day. This is a non-specialized school that has been recognized for many consecutive years as having the highest graduation exam and university entrance exam results in Hanoi.

Teacher Le Hong Chung, Principal of Yen Hoa High School, said that 65 years ago, on the low-lying land near Thuong village, Yen Hoa commune at that time, Yen Hoa Secondary and High School was established, marking the beginning of a glorious journey, full of hardships but also full of glory.

From the simple tiled and thatched roof houses, from the evacuated classrooms during the anti-American resistance war, Yen Hoa teachers and students remained steadfast and passionate about teaching and learning. Generations of students here have gone to war, achieved brilliant feats, and continued to write the heroic history of the nation.

Entering the period of peace and innovation, the school has always maintained and promoted the tradition of "Good Teaching - Good Learning", becoming a bright spot of the capital's education.

In the 1990s, the school was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal twice from the Party and the State; in 2005, it received the Second Class Labor Medal and especially, in 2023, the school was awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the State - a noble award recognizing the tireless dedication of teachers and students.

After 65 years of construction and development, from a small school, Yen Hoa High School has become one of the leading schools in the capital, with a scale of 47 classes, more than 2,100 students, 103 cadres, teachers and employees with high professional quality, enthusiasm and dedication. The school has always been a pioneer in educational innovation, effectively implementing the 2018 general education program, strongly applying information technology, digital transformation, maintaining many consecutive years in the Top 10 schools with the highest graduation exam results and university admissions in Hanoi.

In particular, in the 2025-2026 school year, the school continues to be marked by outstanding and extremely proud results. Specifically, in the 2025 high school graduation exam, Yen Hoa students continue to affirm their superiority and stability with an average score of 7 subjects in the group of schools with the highest exam results in the city, in which Literature is excellent when ranked first in the city, more than 20 students have at least 1 university admission combination with a score of 28 points or higher, more than 90% of students graduating have an international foreign language certificate, an IELTS certificate of 5.5 or higher and an international MOS certificate.

This is the second consecutive year that the school has achieved the highest total graduation exam results among all high schools in the city (including specialized schools in Hanoi and specialized schools of universities in the area). Not only that, this is also the second consecutive year that the school has the highest number of students registering for admission to grade 10 in the city, with the entrance exam score ranked among the top 3 schools.

The results of key education are also clearly affirmed with 39/40 participating students winning prizes in the 2025 city-level 12th grade excellent student selection exam, being in the group of 3 non-specialized high schools with the highest results. Notably, Yen Hoa is the only non-specialized school with 2 students being Valedictorians in Chemistry and Informatics.

“Generations of Yen Hoa students are not only good at studying and active, but also compassionate, actively participating in social and volunteer activities, practicing life skills and growing up comprehensively. Many teachers have achieved the title of emulation fighters, excellent teachers at the city level, and have been honored as dedicated and creative Hanoi teachers, worthy of being shining examples for students to follow,” said teacher Le Hong Chung.
