Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên20/08/2023

Recently, information on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) said that Mr. Tran Anh Thang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Nhat Viet Securities Joint Stock Company (stock code VFS), registered to buy 7 million VFS shares. Information on registering to buy VFS shares in recent days has attracted investors' attention as it is the same name as the stock code VFS of VinFast , which successfully listed on Nasdaq last week. Some investors even joked, "If you can't buy VFS shares on Nasdaq, buy VFS on HNX."

VFS shares, which are being traded on the HNX, are also being noticed as they have the same name as VinFast shares on the Nasdaq.

Currently, VFS shares of Nhat Viet Securities are being traded on the HNX and closed last weekend at VND26,800. Mr. Tran Anh Thang personally holds 8.613 million VFS shares, equivalent to 10.73%. The purpose of registering to buy is to increase the ownership ratio at the company. Temporarily calculating with the current trading price, it is estimated that Mr. Thang must spend nearly VND190 billion to buy the above registered shares.

Notably, VFS shares have also just been officially transferred from UPCoM to trading on the HNX listing floor since July 24 with 80.25 million shares. With the reference price of HNX in the first trading session of 21,200 VND/share, VFS code has increased sharply by 30% in nearly 1 month to a peak of 27,600 VND before falling in the "floor crash" session last weekend.

Because it is newly listed on HNX, VFS shares are on the list of securities not allowed for margin trading because the listing time is less than 6 months from the first trading date.

Nhat Viet Securities Company was established in 2008 with initial charter capital of 135 billion VND, headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, the company's charter capital is over 802 billion VND.

In 2023, VFS plans to achieve revenue of VND 230 billion, an increase of 35% and profit of VND 80 billion, an increase of 27% compared to 2022. At the end of the first 6 months of this year, Nhat Viet Securities achieved total revenue of VND 156.4 billion, an increase of more than 63% over the same period last year and profit after tax of VND 43.7 billion, an increase of 23% over the same period last year...
