Dien Bien police reward units that cooperated in breaking up two major drug trafficking rings in Laos

Directly awarding and encouraging members of the special task force of Dien Bien Provincial Police stationed in Laos and Lao Police units who coordinated to fight and arrest 2 subjects in 2 drug trafficking rings by air with large quantities, Lieutenant Colonel Do Ngoc Minh, Deputy Director of Dien Bien Provincial Police, hoped that each officer and soldier would continue to promote the highest level of responsibility, intelligence, and solidarity in performing their duties.

With the large amount of drugs seized from the two suspects, Lieutenant Colonel Do Ngoc Minh affirmed that he had made an important contribution to preventing drugs from entering the area in accordance with the direction of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to prevent drugs from early and far away.

Previously, at 4:40 p.m. on April 10, at the international airport in Hat Nghien village, Luang Prabang city (Luang Prabang province), the Working Group of Dien Bien Provincial Police and the Luang Prabang Provincial Police Department jointly discovered and arrested Abli Ruca (born in 1975), Nigerian nationality, residing in Auchi, Nigeria, for hiding 4.8 kg of heroin disguised in a cake wrapper; all the drugs were hidden in his personal luggage.

Abli Ruca and all the drugs when they were jointly arrested by the police forces of the two countries at the international airport in Hat Nghien village, Luang Prabang city.

Then, at 6 p.m. the same day, the Special Task Force of Dien Bien Provincial Police in coordination with the Luang Prabang Provincial Police Department continued to arrest Heim (born in 1964), a German national, while he was completing exit procedures at Luang Prabang International Airport to go to Paris (France). Searching the subject's luggage, the authorities seized 4.5 kg of heroin.

At the police station, the subjects confessed that they had been hired to transport the above drugs from people they knew through social networks to bring to Asian and European countries; they were arrested during the transportation.

Currently, the police of the two countries are actively coordinating to investigate and expand the cases to handle them according to the laws of the host country.
