Accordingly, the Traffic Police force focused on controlling key routes for freight transport and areas where traffic accidents frequently occur. This general inspection had close coordination with units such as the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, the Mobile Police (CSCĐ), the City Police Hospital and the Commune, Ward and Town Police.

At the checkpoints, the authorities focused on handling violations related to traffic rules and safety conditions of vehicles and drivers. In particular, the inspection of violations in road transport activities was also strengthened to ensure that vehicle operations comply with legal regulations.

On Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, one of the “hot spots” for transportation, the traffic police checked more than 60 drivers, including measuring alcohol concentration and rapid drug testing. Notably, at 09:48 on April 8, at Km9+200 QL10 (Luu Kiem, Thuy Nguyen), Luu Kiem Traffic Police Station discovered a taxi driver born in 1985 testing positive for three types of drugs including Ketamine, Methamphetamine and Amphetamine.

According to statistics, from December 15, 2024 to March 30, 2025, there were 97 road traffic accidents in Hai Phong , killing 55 people and injuring 57. Freight transport vehicles alone were involved in 39 accidents (accounting for 40%), killing 28 people (accounting for 51%) and injuring 13 people (accounting for 23%). These figures show the high level of risk from freight transport activities if not strictly controlled.

This general inspection is part of a series of activities to implement Directive No. 23/CT-TTg dated July 26, 2024 of the Prime Minister , with the goal of enhancing the effectiveness of ensuring traffic safety and order in transport business activities in the new situation. Thereby, the authorities hope to proactively prevent accidents, restore discipline in freight transport activities, and contribute to building a safe and civilized traffic environment.
