Announcing the results of evaluating digital transformation index at department and district levels

DTO - On the morning of October 10 - National Digital Transformation Day, Dong Thap Province Digital Transformation Day, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to announce the results of the assessment of the Digital Transformation Index at the department and district levels in Dong Thap province in 2022 (abbreviated as DTI) and a workshop on "Information security for digital data".

The conference aims to spread the determination of provincial leaders in promoting the implementation of tasks under the Dong Thap Provincial Digital Transformation Project, thereby improving the transformation index of Dong Thap province in 2023.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Ms. Nguyen Lam Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director in charge of operations of the Department of Information and Communications said that digital transformation helps state agencies operate more effectively, efficiently and transparently. Digital economy promotes innovation, creates new values, helps increase labor productivity, and creates new growth momentum. Digital society helps people have equal access to services, training, knowledge, and narrows the development gap. In recent times, the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Dong Thap province have issued resolutions, projects and annual plans to create a legal basis and the participation of sectors and levels. Therefore, the province's digital transformation last year had many positive changes: the digital transformation index increased by 10 places (ranked 39/63 provinces and cities), the Readiness Index for the development and application of information and communication technology in Vietnam in 2022 (Vietnam ICT Index 2022) increased by 9 places (ranked 7/63 provinces and cities)...

The conference organizers awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to 2 units that were evaluated and ranked 1 in the digital transformation index in 2022.

Provincial DTI has indicators used to evaluate agencies and specialized units under the Provincial People's Committee with a total score of 200 points based on 6 indicators and 21 component indicators including: Digital awareness (20 points), Digital institutions (20 points), Digital infrastructure (40 points), Digital human resources (30 points), Cyber security (40 points), Digital government activities (50 points).

District-level DTI has indicators used to evaluate specialized agencies and units under the People's Committee of districts and cities with a total assessment score of 400 points based on 8 indicators and 35 component indicators including: Digital awareness (60 points), Digital institutions (20 points), Digital infrastructure (50 points), Digital human resources (50 points), Cyber security (40 points), Digital government activities (90 points), Digital economy (70 points), Digital society (20 points).

On this occasion, the conference organizers awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to 1 department-level unit and 1 district-level unit that were evaluated and ranked 1 digital transformation index in 2022, namely the Economic Zone Management Board and Chau Thanh District People's Committee.

The workshop “Information security for digital data” aims to introduce some effective information security solutions for shared information systems; display, introduce and support installation experience for civil servants and public employees participating in public digital certificate events.

Previously, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to organize Dong Thap province's Digital Transformation Day and respond to the National Digital Transformation Day in 2023, in order to propagate, spread and attract the positive response of the entire political system and society to digital transformation tasks in Dong Thap province; raise awareness of people and businesses about online public services, cashless payments, information security, and personal data protection; at the same time, contribute to improving the digital economy and digital society index, contributing to socio-economic development in the province; effectively organize activities of Dong Thap province's Digital Transformation Day in 2023; strengthen cooperation between Dong Thap province and enterprises providing digital transformation solutions, gradually build and develop e-government towards information security, contributing to digital transformation to serve the interests of people and businesses.
