Announcing many archival documents on Cao Bang history

On October 1, the opening ceremony of the exhibition on Cao Bang province's history through archival documents took place at Cao Bang Provincial Museum.

With a layout consisting of 3 parts with the main contents: Cao Bang - Establishment marks; Major changes in administrative boundaries; Cao Bang - Historical journeys, the exhibition introduces more than 200 documents, images, artifacts, quotes... selected from the National Archives Centers under the Department of State Records and Archives, the Cao Bang Provincial Historical Archives Center and a number of agencies and units in the province.

Among them, many images and documents are introduced for the first time, outlining the basic features of the historical picture of the formation and development of Cao Bang province.

According to documents at the exhibition, in 1499, realizing the important position of Cao Bang land, the Le dynasty decided to separate Cao Bang prefecture from Thai Nguyen Governorate to establish Cao Bang town.

Since then, Cao Bang has become an independent administrative unit, directly under the Central Government. This can be considered an important turning point in the historical process of formation and development in the border land of the Fatherland.

Over the past 500 years, through many historical periods, Cao Bang province has always maintained its role as a locality with an important position in politics , national defense and security at the border of the Fatherland; a place that preserves many unique cultural values of ethnic minorities.

The exhibition of Cao Bang province's history through archival documents is a practical activity on the occasion of the 525th anniversary of Cao Bang province's establishment (1499 - 2024).

At the same time, it contributes to preserving and promoting the cultural values and fine traditions of the ethnic people of Cao Bang province in the integration period, bringing the public back to the historical roots, helping the public have a more comprehensive and clearer view of the history of formation and development of Cao Bang land rich in cultural, patriotic and revolutionary traditions.

The exhibition runs from now until October 2024.
