To carry out this work well, the Industrial Trade Union actively follows the grassroots, grasps the situation of enterprises and workers, and on that basis develops plans suitable to the practical situation, especially focusing on enterprises with non-state investment capital, large-scale private enterprises that have been in operation for many years but have not yet established a grassroots trade union.
Propaganda and mobilization work has been promoted and flexibly implemented in many forms. Comrade Ho Thi Xuan Hanh, President of the Trade Union, said: Propaganda and mobilization work is considered a key factor in establishing a trade union organization and developing union members. In reality, this work faces many difficulties due to the lack of specialized trade union staff; propaganda sessions are all conducted outside of working hours. During this time, workers are tired and need to rest, so propaganda is not very effective. In addition, there are also a number of workers who do not fully understand the meaning and benefits of participating in a trade union organization...
To solve these difficulties, in addition to grasping the situation of enterprises, the Trade Union actively innovates and diversifies propaganda forms suitable for each target group, such as: distributing leaflets, union application forms, and trade union work handbooks for employees; coordinating with media agencies to propagate and mobilize on mass media. The propaganda content is compiled concisely, succinctly, and easy to understand. The Trade Union directs the executive committees of grassroots trade unions to promote their core role, active responsibility, proactively meet, exchange, propagate, and mobilize employees to participate in trade unions. In addition, the grassroots trade union also coordinates with the enterprise's leadership to organize dialogues and directly advise union members and employees on legal regulations related to union members and employees: Labor Code, Trade Union Law, social insurance, health insurance, etc.; Maximize the support of functional departments and branches to approach, work, propagate and mobilize business leaders to establish grassroots trade unions when all conditions are met according to legal regulations.
The work of protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests and taking care of the lives of union members has been well implemented. In addition to proactively advising and coordinating with the enterprise's leadership to organize labor conferences in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality and efficiency, trade unions at all levels have well implemented programs to visit, give gifts, and support union members when they are sick or in difficult circumstances; organize cultural and sports activities to create useful and healthy playgrounds to improve the spiritual life of union members... thereby enhancing the role and position, helping employees see the benefits, effectiveness and voluntarily participate in the union organization. With practical solutions, from 2024 to present, the Industrial Trade Union has established 4 grassroots unions, recruited 5,411 new union members, bringing the total number of grassroots unions in the bloc to 35 grassroots unions, with 13,770 union members.
Comrade Ho Thi Xuan Hanh added: To improve the effectiveness of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions, in the coming time, the Industrial Trade Union will strengthen, innovate and improve the quality of propaganda work to enhance political capacity, awareness and knowledge for union officials, union members and employees about trade union organizations. Improve the quality of activities, role and prestige of trade union organizations to attract employees and support from enterprises in establishing trade union organizations and recruiting union members, focusing initially on enterprises with 100% foreign investment capital and meeting the conditions to establish grassroots unions.
