Union officials of Vinh Son Cement Company Limited (Luong Son) visited and understood the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers.
Having been with the company for nearly 20 years, Mr. Phung Van Giap, in the electromechanical department, always tells himself to try his best and make efforts for the development of the business. Because over the years, the company has not only created a stable job for Mr. Giap but also been a "second home" that always accompanies, shares, and supports his family in life. Unlike his colleagues, Mr. Giap's life is more difficult when his two children have congenital disabilities since childhood and have to stay home, all the money he earns is poured into treating his children. Understanding the situation, the company's Union Executive Committee regularly cares, encourages, and gives gifts to his family during holidays and Tet. Colleagues also support and help Mr. Giap to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
Mr. Giap shared: "I feel sorry for my sick children since they were young, so I go to work to earn money just to cure them and improve their health. There were times when I felt sad and tired due to the pressure of life and work, but my colleagues in the company shared and helped me overcome adversity. The practical gifts from businesses and trade unions are a great source of encouragement and motivation, helping my family try harder."
Established in 2014, the Vinh Son Cement Company Limited's Trade Union currently has nearly 250 members. Under the direction of the superior Trade Union and the facilitation of the enterprise's leaders, the Trade Union Executive Committee has performed well its functions and tasks of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees. Strengthening coordination with functional departments and offices to propagate and mobilize employees to properly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the enterprise's rules and regulations. The Trade Union Executive Committee proactively coordinates with the enterprise to develop collective labor agreements, labor regulations, and organize dialogue conferences with employees at the workplace. Grasping the thoughts and aspirations of employees to promptly resolve existing and arising problems right at the grassroots level. At the same time, contributing to employers on improving the value of shift meals for employees, organizing annual monitoring of the working environment at the workplace in accordance with regulations.
Mr. Hoang Cao Phuong, Chairman of the Trade Union of Vinh Son Cement Company Limited, said: "With the characteristics of an enterprise operating in the heavy industry specializing in cement production, the Trade Union Executive Committee has coordinated with employers to fully implement regulations on occupational safety and hygiene such as: protective clothing, fire prevention and fighting equipment...".
Regarding activities to care for the interests of union members and employees, the Trade Union Executive Committee maintains the organization of visits and gifts for employees in difficult circumstances, those suffering from serious illnesses, those who are often sick, etc. on holidays. The total budget for welfare activities for union members and employees is estimated at over 200 million VND/year. Maintain the implementation of cultural, artistic, and sports activities to create solidarity and unity among union members and employees in the enterprise.
Along with promoting the role of taking care of the interests of union members and employees, the company's Trade Union advised the business leaders to donate 10 tons of cement to support the construction of a Red Scarf house in Thanh Cao commune (Luong Son).
