At the First Defense Industry Forum in Ukraine, Milrem, Europe's leading developer of robotics and autonomous systems, announced the signing of an agreement with the Association of Ukrainian Defense Industry Enterprises (Ukroboronprom) to develop and build next-generation multi-role combat robotic systems.

The agreement identifies a number of areas in which Milrem and Ukroboronprom plan to develop cooperation. Ukraine has high hopes that Milrem's new technologies will significantly increase the effectiveness of the Ukrainian armed forces in the conflict with Russia.

“The cooperation between Ukroboronprom and Milrem to develop and produce robotic systems will help Ukraine protect its troops, ensure the safety of its servicemen, weaken the enemy and win this conflict,” said Kuldar Vaarsi , CEO of Milrem.

“Ukraine is gaining experience in the field of defense technology. We are trying to expand cooperation with leading international high-tech companies to create an army of the free world ,” said Alexander Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Affairs of the Ministry of Industry of Ukraine.

Type-X can integrate UVision Hero-120 or UVision Hero-400EC cruise missile launchers.

According to Milrem representatives, Ukrainian defense developers and manufacturers will integrate their military technologies - weapons, electronic warfare equipment, mine clearance - into Milrem robots to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Army.

The parties plan to study the deployment of production of Milrem products in Ukraine, in particular the THEMIS unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), which can carry heavy machine guns and anti-tank weapons.

The device can also be used for non-lethal missions such as mine clearance. In addition, Ukraine also plans to develop a completely new wheeled combat robot (RCV) with Milrem.

THEMIS is a medium-sized, all-terrain UGV designed to transport troops, deploy weapons remotely, detect and handle improvised explosive devices (IEDs)... THEMIS's open architecture allows it to perform a variety of missions.

THEMIS can integrate various weapon systems, including the FGM-148 Javelin, the deFNder medium-range remote-controlled weapon station (ROWS), the M151 remote-protected weapon station, IMPACT, the Brimstone anti-tank system, etc. Currently, Milrem has provided Ukraine with 15 THEMIS to support logistics, evacuate wounded soldiers, and clear roads.

The Type-X is designed to support main battle tank units, equipped with 25-50 mm automatic cannons.

Milrem is currently developing a 12-ton RCV called the Type-X. It is essentially a very light tank. The Type-X is designed to be easily upgraded at a relatively low cost.

Founded in 2013, Milrem is a well-known developer and system integrator of robotics and automation systems in Europe. The company has offices in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands and the United States.

Milrem is best known for products such as THEMIS, Multiscope, Type-X and the MIFIK automation system.
