The Steering Committee for the Implementation of the National Target Program and Sustainable Development of Hai Phong City has just held a meeting and voted to recognize the first phase of advanced new rural communes in 2023.
Previously, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Phong issued a document requesting recognition of advanced NTM communes for 12 communes in 5 districts: An Lao, Vinh Bao, Tien Lang, Kien Thuy and Cat Hai (all in Hai Phong City).
However, 6 communes including: Tan Trao (Kien Thuy district), Gia Luan, Hien Hao, Tran Chau, Phu Long, Viet Hai (Cat Hai district) have not met the criteria of advanced NTM communes according to regulations. Therefore, Hai Phong City has not considered recognizing advanced NTM communes this time.
For the remaining 6 communes, including Ly Hoc, Hiep Hoa, Vinh Long (Vinh Bao district), Doan Lap (Tien Lang district), Minh Tan (Kien Thuy district) and An Tien (An Lao district) have met the prescribed criteria and have appraisal reports from relevant departments and branches of Hai Phong city.
The Hai Phong City Appraisal Council has voted to recognize the above 6 communes as advanced NTM communes. As a result, 100% of the voting members unanimously recognized the 6 communes: Ly Hoc, Hiep Hoa, Vinh Long, Doan Lap, Minh Tan, An Tien as meeting the advanced NTM standards.
According to information from the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, after completing the construction of new rural areas (NTM), localities in the area will start building advanced NTM and model NTM, including the districts: An Lao, Kien Thuy, Thuy Nguyen, An Duong, Vinh Bao, Cat Hai and Tien Lang. Hai Phong City aims to have 100% of communes in the area complete the model NTM criteria by the end of 2025 .
