On March 22, Princess of Wales Catherine (Kate) announced that she had cancer and was in the early stages of chemotherapy, expressing her desire for "time, space and privacy" as she completed her treatment.
Princess Kate said she was diagnosed with cancer after successful abdominal surgery in January.
According to the Princess, this was "a huge shock" but she "is getting healthier and stronger every day."
The 42-year-old princess did not reveal the exact type of cancer but described the past months since she was admitted to hospital as "very difficult" for her and her family.
In response, British Chancellor Rishi Sunak praised Kate for her courage in making the statement, saying she had "the love and support of the whole nation as she continues her recovery."
On the same day, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre sent her best wishes to Princess Kate and called for "respect for the privacy" of the Princess' family.
