Cong Phuong announces great news, Binh Phuoc dreams of ticket to V-League

Information from Binh Phuoc Club , striker Cong Phuong has fully recovered from injury and can play in the final round of the 2024/25 First Division, when the Southeast team hosts Long An .

During the afternoon training session on June 20, Cong Phuong "swallowed" the training plan from Binh Phuoc's coaching staff. The striker wearing the number 70 shirt even ran and kicked the ball very well, showing that he was ready for the important match of his team.

Previously, Cong Phuong suffered a sore foot and had to say goodbye to the Vietnamese team during the training session to prepare for the match against Malaysia, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup. The striker born in 1995 could not play in the 21st round of the First Division when playing away at Ninh Binh (losing 0-3), but he recovered in time for the "final" match against Long An on the afternoon of June 21.

With the return of Cong Phuong, Binh Phuoc is confident of winning all 3 points when playing Long An at home. If this goal is achieved, coach Huynh Quoc Anh's team will finish the season in second place, win a play-off ticket, and compete for a place in the V-League next season with the second-to-last team in the V-League 2024/25 standings.

In this match, Long An seems to have lost motivation because they have already secured a ticket to stay in the league (Hue is the relegated team) and have to play away. However, if they are not careful and let Long An cause a shock with a win or a draw, Binh Phuoc risks being left empty-handed because they can be surpassed by PVF-CAND (due to only 1 point behind) to win the play-off ticket. In this round, PVF-CAND will meet Dong Nai.

The First Division is only hot in the race for the second place in the rankings after Ninh Binh was confirmed as the champion and Hue was relegated to the Second Division. Meanwhile, up to this point, the two Second Division teams promoted to the First Division next season are Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh. The remaining two teams will be determined after Group B of the Second Division ends. From next season, the National First Division will have 14 participating teams.
