Since the beginning of November, provinces and cities in the Central region have had to cope with storm No. 13 and then consecutive heavy rains that have lasted for an unprecedented period, exceeding historical levels in many years. This is one of the most serious and fierce natural disasters, causing huge losses in human life, property, production and business activities, and infrastructure in localities in the Central region and the Central Highlands, especially Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak , Gia Lai, and Lam Dong provinces.
In recent times, the Government Electronic Information Portal and the Government Electronic Newspaper have done a good job of informing about the direction and management activities of the Government, the Prime Minister , agencies, functional forces and local authorities at all levels in the work of preventing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.

Reporters have closely followed meetings; inspection and supervision activities; field trips to direct the prevention, response, and recovery of storms and floods by Government leaders in localities to provide information quickly, accurately, and promptly. Many images and instructions from Government leaders and functional agencies were transmitted directly from the center of storms and floods to be posted and broadcast on the platforms of the Government Electronic Information Portal.
The functional departments of the Government Electronic Information Portal in general and the Government Electronic Newspaper in particular have organized 100% on-duty, working continuously 24/7 to promptly inform about developments of storms, rains, and floods; update information on the direction and administration of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers; and work on directing the implementation of prevention, response, and overcoming of consequences of storms and floods from ministries, functional branches, and local authorities on the platforms of the Government Electronic Information Portal and the Government Electronic Newspaper. At the same time, thousands of information, requests for support, and calls for help from people in distress have been received to forward to the Department of Search and Rescue and relevant agencies to request support, assistance, and rescue of people in storms and floods.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the role and positive, practical and effective contributions of the Government Information Portal in the work of preventing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
In the conclusion of the urgent online meeting with ministries, branches, agencies and localities via domestic bridges on the flood situation and continued response and overcoming of natural disaster consequences in the Central provinces from Johannesburg city, South Africa on the night of November 23 (South Africa time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the press and media agencies to continue to closely follow, fully and promptly reflect the situation, forecasts, leadership information, direction and administration of competent authorities, strengthen the dissemination of disaster response skills, rescue and relief to the people, in which he especially emphasized: "The Government Electronic Information Portal regularly updates information on the direction and administration of the Government, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, ministries and branches" for this work.
