Tha La Reservoir was built in 2005, formed by the construction of a dam on Tha La stream, regulated by a rubber dam, is a relatively large branch of the Saigon River, originating from the Vietnam - Cambodia border area, the main stream length is 34 km, with a capacity of 27.43 million m3 of water. The lake is responsible for providing water for agricultural production for more than 2,700 ha/crop for Tan Chau district.

When completed, Tha La reservoir will provide water for agricultural production, industry, people's daily life and expand the water supply area for the water plant in Tan Chau district with a capacity of 20,000 m3/day and night.

This year, because the water level of Tha La Lake is not as low as in previous years, the construction encountered some difficulties, and the volume of filling is large. Regarding technical requirements, we have to wait for subsidence over time. According to the Project Management Board, the project will be completed by November 2025, ensuring the architectural progress of the landscape area by the end of 2025.
