By mid-April, over 7,000 tons of sugar had been consumed, at a price of over VND20,000/kg, VND3,000/kg higher than the previous crop year. The remaining 2,700 tons of sugar had been contracted to supply to confectionery and food manufacturing companies, with estimated revenue from sugar production reaching nearly VND200 billion. This is the year with the highest increase in white sugar prices and the strongest consumption in many years.
