Preserving traditional values
The history of construction and growth of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel is closely linked to the journey of industrialization of the country. The first miners, blast furnace workers, and metallurgists laid the foundation for the first heavy industrial complex of our country. After more than six decades, the tradition of “discipline - creativity - resilience” of the Iron and Steel workers has been firmly inherited.
In many periods, the steel industry faced difficulties in capital, technology and market. However, with the spirit of self-reliance and solidarity, TISCO has maintained stable production, making an important contribution to the industrial growth of Thai Nguyen province. From an initial workforce of several thousand workers, up to now, Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company has formed a system of member units, synchronous production and business establishments, creating stable jobs for thousands of workers.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hanh, Party Secretary, Board Member, General Director of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company, affirmed: The 62-year tradition of Iron and Steel workers is the greatest spiritual asset of TISCO. It is the internal strength built from many generations that has helped the Company stand firm in all circumstances, master equipment, technology and be ready to innovate for the goal of long-term development.
Not only preserving tradition, TISCO also focuses on training a new generation of workers - those who are knowledgeable in metallurgical technology and master modern equipment in the production line. This is an important condition for the enterprise to enter the development stage according to the green industry model, circular industry.

Technological innovation, ensuring greening goals
In the context of fierce competition in the steel market, with increasing demands for energy saving and emission reduction, TISCO has set the goal of technological innovation as the focus of transformation. Many equipment items have been improved, increasing the efficiency of blast furnaces and smelters, optimizing coke consumption and improving the quality of steel billets.
According to General Director Nguyen Minh Hanh, each year the Company implements dozens of technical innovation initiatives, helping to save tens of billions of VND in production costs. The application of the circular economy model - reusing slag, furnace dust, and recovering waste heat has also helped significantly reduce the amount of solid waste and emissions into the environment.
Along with in-depth investment, the Company promotes the application of digital transformation in production management. Data from workshops is synchronized in real time, supporting optimal operation and product quality control.
Mr. Vu Thuong Thu, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, said: Modernizing equipment always requires improving workers' skills. The Trade Union coordinates with specialized departments to organize periodic training, train new equipment operators and launch creative labor movements. It is the workers in production teams and groups who create improvements that bring great value to the enterprise.
Technological innovation not only contributes to reducing costs but also helps businesses meet environmental standards of major export markets, especially in the context of the border carbon tax roadmap being implemented in many countries.

Expanding links in the steel ecosystem
As the center of the metallurgical industrial ecosystem in Thai Nguyen, TISCO plays an important role in linking the production - consumption - supporting industry chain. Steel rolling mills, mechanical engineering, technical transport units and steel trading enterprises in the province are all positively affected by the stability of TISCO.
According to Mr. Tran Tuan, General Director of Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company: TISCO is responsible for supplying steel billets and providing technical, human resources and market support to metallurgical enterprises in Thai Nguyen. The Company's promotion of clean technology, standardization of processes and improvement of management creates a spreading momentum, helping the industry improve product quality and expand competitiveness.
Not only spreading within the province, TISCO also strengthens cooperation with many large domestic steel enterprises, expanding the consumption market in the Northern and North Central provinces. The company is also gradually developing a product line with high technology content, meeting the needs of industrial construction - infrastructure - social housing.
In the coming period, TISCO identifies three key development directions: Promoting green production, reducing emissions, reusing industrial waste; increasing labor productivity, modernizing production lines through digital transformation and training high-quality human resources; expanding chain linkages, enhancing the role of pillar enterprises in the province's industrial development.
