Conviction 2025: 150 speakers, 30,000 attendees

According to data from Triple-A and Chainalysis, Vietnam currently ranks 7th in the world in terms of the percentage of people owning cryptocurrencies and is in the top 5 in the world in terms of cryptocurrency popularity. Data from the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) and Chainalysis also show that the number of cryptocurrency owners in Vietnam by 2024 has reached 17 million people, nearly double the 9 million securities accounts.

Interest in digital assets in early 2025 on Google Trends Vietnam also shows that the number of searches for cryptocurrencies has surpassed real estate and stocks.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Vinh, Chairman of the Blockchain Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the transaction volume from Vietnamese people on cryptocurrency exchanges is estimated at 800 billion USD /year. Meanwhile, the above index in the stock market is about 180 billion USD . Thus, the new financial sector is attracting 4.4 times more transactions.

The figure of 800 billion USD in cryptocurrency transactions was calculated by Mr. Vinh based on published reports. In which, the Wall Street Journal said that Vietnamese people are the largest customer group of Binance, contributing 250 billion USD /year. In another report, this platform accounts for about 34% of the global CEX (Centralized Cryptocurrency Exchange) market share. The trading volume on decentralized exchanges (DEX) accounts for about 10%.

“This 800 billion USD is only calculated on applied cryptocurrencies (coins, tokens), not including the NFT market. If combined, the number could reach 1,000 billion USD ,” Mr. Vinh added. According to him, having a management mechanism soon according to Resolution 57 will create conditions to exploit new technology sectors, promoting the development of Vietnam's digital economy in the coming time. These figures in blockchain surpass traditional investment sectors such as stocks.

Conviction 2025: Opportunities for Vietnam blockchain

Emerging in Vietnam since 2017, however, exchange events for blockchain and digital currency are rarely held in Vietnam. The legal “gray area” for new types of investment and technology makes this industry still doubtful.

However, with the attention of the authorities and the open legal corridor through the Digital Technology Industry Law, it creates opportunities for blockchain product developers to step into the light, through programs such as Conviction 2025. This event is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Electronic Communications Association with the core being the Ho Chi Minh City Blockchain Association (HBA) and the Ninety Eight ecosystem.

Mr. Nguyen Quy Hoa, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Association of Communications and Electronics, delivered the opening speech at Conviction 2025.

“With an expected scale of 30,000 participants, along with hundreds of scientific presentations from domestic and foreign experts, Conviction 2025 promises to be a top-notch knowledge forum, a golden opportunity to promote the digital economy, digital transformation of Ho Chi Minh City, and call for international investment.”, said Mr. Nguyen Quy Hoa, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Communications and Electronics.

According to Mr. Le Thanh, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Blockchain Association, Conviction 2025 is the largest in the region. In addition to the large number of participants, the number of international experts in Vietnam on August 9-10 is a guarantee of the quality of the program.

This is an opportunity for users and investors to directly interact and exchange with the people behind the creation of leading blockchain technology products. On the other hand, Conviction 2025 is where Vietnamese blockchain startups "advertise" their projects to global investment funds.

Previously, Vietnamese companies such as Sky Mavis, NinetyEight or KyberNetwork made their mark on the international market. The tokens of these projects were at one point valued at billions of dollars.
