School teachers participate in studying in Australia under the Aus4Skills Program.

Grasping the reality of "thirst" for human resources in this field, right after logistics was added to the list of regular training majors and occupations at intermediate and college levels, Central College of Transport V ( Da Nang ) registered to open the Logistics training major code at college level and started enrolling students in 2017.

The school was selected to participate in phase 2 (2021-2025) of the “Australia and Vietnam Human Resource Development” (Aus4Skills) Program. Through the Aus4Skills Program, Australian experts have shared methods and lessons on vocationaleducation , supporting Vietnam to build a training model led by businesses, designed to suit the context of Vietnam.

Since 2019, the School has sent more than 30 managers and lecturers to participate in short-term courses organized by the Aus4Skills Program in Vietnam and Australia. Thanks to that, the capacity of the school's managers and teachers has been improved and there have been many positive changes in teaching methods. The success of the pilot training project on the "Receiving and storing goods" training module has helped the school promote the Logistics profession more effectively, enhancing its advantages in recruitment.

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Tuoi, Principal of the Central College of Transport V, educational cooperation activities with Aus4Skills have helped managers and lecturers learn about the inevitable trends of globalization and digital transformation. That knowledge helps improve leadership, management, transformational thinking and design thinking skills... Thereby, helping students develop more comprehensive capacities, including knowledge, skills, attitudes and employability. The enterprise-led skills building model has achieved success in equipping the school's students with the competencies required by the market.

Although logistics is a new training industry, the school has achieved impressive results in both enrollment and training quality. The application of the project's competency-based training and assessment (CBTA) method has helped the number of enrollments in logistics and related industries in the logistics field such as Warehouse Management, Supermarket Sales Management, and Road Transport Business increase significantly over the years.

The number of students enrolled in 2019 was only 29, but increased to 240 students in 2022 (more than 7 times) and 276 students in 2023 (8.5 times). The rate of students having jobs and studying at higher levels after 6 months of graduation is always over 90%. Students and receiving businesses are both highly satisfied with the training quality of the school.

According to Ms. Truong Thi Thuy Tram, Head of the Faculty of Economics and Transport of the school, the lecturers of the faculty have shared the knowledge and skills they have acquired with their colleagues to apply them in teaching practice. Two lecturers of the faculty won the Second and Third prizes in the Da Nang City Vocational Education Teachers' Teaching Competition held in September 2024 with lectures on the module "Warehouse operations and Customs procedures module" of the Logistics profession.

Ms. Tram said that the Aus4Skills Program not only supports the capacity building of staff and teachers but also provides advice and support to schools in the process of implementing pilot training projects according to the Competency-Based Approach (CBTA) - an approach based on learner outcomes, closely combining teaching methods and assessment forms designed to assess learners' learning through their demonstration of knowledge, skills and behaviours in response to the requirements set out at each level.

The success of the pilot training project has brought the school many lessons learned to innovate teaching to meet business standards. From the vocational skill standards transferred and technically supported by Aus4skills, the school has built and updated many training programs and teaching materials for occupations at different training levels (Intermediate, College-level from Intermediate, College) and many related subject modules of occupations in the logistics field such as modules "Warehouse operations", "Supply chain management", "Transportation and delivery operations", "Customs procedures", "Law on logistics business and multimodal transport", and focused on developing assessment tools for students.

The school's logistics training programs are built vividly and practically, helping students understand an overview of logistics and its role in related industries. At the same time, they help students have a clear, general view of career choices, motivating them to pursue their chosen career.

Participating in the Aus4Skills Program, the school's business cooperation activities have gone into depth and focus, which is also a factor contributing to the effectiveness of training activities. Up to now, the school has signed cooperation agreements with more than 300 businesses in all fields of the school's training, including businesses in the logistics field.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Suong - Head of Training Department, Universal Alloy Coporation Vietnam Co., Ltd. (UACV) - Representative of the enterprise that participated with the school in the pilot training project of the module "Receiving and storing goods" according to the CBTA method shared: "We highly appreciate the training model based on the implementation capacity that the school is implementing and the way the school listens and cooperates with us. We benefit from this model because we receive trained human resources with full skills, ready to work without the need for retraining".
