A boost for Pogba

After nearly two years of absence, Paul Pogba is set to return to the pitch when AS Monaco faces Paris FC in round 11 of Ligue 1 on November 2.

French media have confirmed that Pogba will be included in Monaco's squad for this weekend's match. This is a milestone that French football fans have been waiting for for months.

Pogba, who joined Monaco on a free transfer in the summer after serving an 18-month ban, burst into tears when signing the contract, as it was a moment he was given a chance to start over. The 32-year-old admitted that he still dreams of playing for France at the 2026 World Cup - something that seemed far-fetched when his career hit rock bottom just a year ago.

Before the FIFA Days in October, Pogba was expected to make his debut against Angers on October 18, but fitness issues delayed the plan. Despite not appearing in the last four matches, coach Sebastien Pocognoli confirmed that the French midfielder is very close to returning.

"Everything is going well. We will evaluate the current Pogba, not the Pogba of MU or Juventus before. He has great technique, but the rhythm of the game is the real measure," coach Sebastien Pocognoli affirmed.

According to CEO Thiago Scuro, Monaco built a separate 3-month recovery program for Pogba to help him regain enough physical strength to integrate into the team's high-intensity playing style.

Monaco are currently second in Ligue 1, just one point behind PSG after 10 rounds, and Pogba’s availability is seen as a morale booster for their title ambitions. The remaining question is which Pogba will return – the world- conquering star or the one struggling to find himself?
