With farmers, more golden seasons

From mid-August until now, on the hillsides of Noong Son, Ta Dung, Quynh Tam villages, Chieng Sung commune, Mai Son district and Nong Chay, Na Thuon, Bo Cop, Muong Chum commune, Muong La district, people have been busy harvesting corn seeds. The land does not fail the people, after many years of cooperating with Chieng Sung Agricultural Joint Stock Company to grow corn seeds, the lives of hundreds of Thai and Mong ethnic households have really stabilized and developed, many households have become rich from growing corn seeds. More than 300 households have participated in growing corn seeds in the villages, and to date there are no poor households.

On Provincial Road 110, we saw trucks loaded with bags of corn seeds being transported from the villages to Chieng Sung Agricultural Joint Stock Company. On the corn fields in Noong Son village, dozens of people were urgently harvesting, bagging and transferring the corn to the collection point waiting for enough trucks. On both sides of the road, many areas of corn seeds that had just been harvested were starting to grow new green colors of squash, red beans and soybeans.

Promoting the role of a science and technology enterprise, in this year's corn crop, Chieng Sung Agricultural Joint Stock Company continues to implement the principle of mutually beneficial association, the Company has capital, technology and product consumption market; farmers have land and labor. This is an effective association, helping the Company and farmers to develop production and build sustainable raw material areas over the years. Every year, during the production season, the Company sends technical staff to guide from planting to harvesting. At the same time, it maintains the policy of investing in seeds, fertilizers, production techniques and purchasing all products for farmers. In which, the Company invests in fertilizers, seeds, supports flag removal fees, pesticides, transportation fees from the field to the processing factory and wages for screening and shelling seeds.

At the Company's seed processing plant, the production atmosphere is extremely urgent and bustling. With the motto of processing corn as soon as it arrives, ensuring that harvested corn is not left in the field, especially during the prolonged heavy rains caused by the recent storm No. 3. After being transported from the field, corn is immediately put into the drying oven; if corn is wet by rain, it is put into a non-heated fan dryer for 4-6 hours, then dried with heat to a humidity level below 20%, then transferred to the kernel shelling machine and continued to dry corn kernels to a humidity level of 11.5%, with a total drying time of 126 hours, to obtain seed products. All stages are continuously monitored and inspected by technical staff of the Company and partner units and businesses, ensuring the prestige and quality of the products.

According to farmers' calculations, each hectare of corn seed, after deducting costs, still earns more than 60 million VND; in addition, after harvesting, people continue to grow squash, red beans, soybeans, earning an additional income of about 40 million VND. This year, in addition to corn seed production, Chieng Sung Agricultural Joint Stock Company also cooperates with Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company to produce 60 hectares of sweet corn, with an output of 900 tons and 24 hectares of vegetable soybeans, with an output of 137 tons, providing raw materials for Doveco Son La Vegetable Processing Center, creating more jobs and income for farmers.
