According to TechRadar , at the developer conference - WWDC 2024, Apple announced a series of new features on iOS 18, however, an important upgrade has just been revealed, which is the ability to support live video for SOS calls on iPhone.
According to Apple's press release, the new feature allows users to share information about emergency situations through live or pre-recorded video. This helps rescue workers have a more intuitive view of the scene, thereby providing more appropriate and faster support.

To make an SOS call, users simply press and hold the power button (or side button) and either volume button at the same time. The new video feature is expected to display on-screen options for users to start a live stream or send a recorded video.
This is a worthy upgrade to the emergency feature, along with many other improvements on iOS 18 such as the ability to lock apps, customize the home screen, integrate a password manager and audio transcription, as well as the Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence toolkit.
However, the new Apple Intelligence feature is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Users of other models will have to wait for the official iOS 18 update in September to experience the remaining features.
