(NLDO) - The price of SJC gold bars and gold rings suddenly decreased again, falling below the 87 million VND/tael mark.
At 5:00 p.m. on December 11, the SJC Gold Company listed the buying price of SJC gold bars at VND84.4 million/tael and the selling price at VND86.9 million/tael, down VND200,000 compared to the morning. However, compared to yesterday, each tael of gold bar still increased by about VND1.3 million/tael.
Gold bar prices also fell from their highest level in the past month, after falling below VND87 million/tael.
The unexpected development in the gold market is that some banks and other businesses have sharply reduced the price of gold bars. ACB traded SJC gold bars at 85 million VND/tael for purchase and only 86.5 million VND/tael for sale. Exinbank listed the price of gold bars at 84.8 million VND/tael for purchase and 86.9 million VND/tael for sale.
Domestic gold price falls again
Meanwhile, PNJ Company kept the buying price of gold bars unchanged at 84.6 million VND/tael and selling price at 87.1 million VND/tael.
Not only gold bars, gold rings and jewelry of all kinds also decreased compared to the morning. At the end of the day, SJC Company traded 99.99 gold rings at 84.3 million VND/tael for buying and 85.7 million VND/tael for selling, down 100,000 VND/tael compared to the morning.
PNJ Company sells plain gold rings for 85.8 million VND/tael while DOJI sells at a higher price of 85.9 million VND/tael; Mi Hong Company sells at 85.5 million VND/tael.
Domestic gold prices fluctuated quite strongly when the world price fell below the 2,700 USD/ounce mark. Currently, the precious metal on the international market is trading at 2,696 USD/ounce, down about 8 USD/ounce compared to the previous session.
Gold expert Phan Dung Khanh analyzed that gold prices are benefiting from the downward trend of the USD after a period of overheating. The USD index is currently at 106.4 points. China, after 6 consecutive months of not buying gold, has started buying again, contributing to the impact on the psychology of the market and investors, pushing the gold price up.
"However, in the long term, looking at the early 2025 period, the gold price can break through to the 3,000 USD/ounce mark, which is not simple, it needs more time and cannot increase immediately in the short term," said Mr. Khanh.
Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 82.7 million VND/tael.
