Following the sacred call of the Fatherland, at the age of 22, the young man Pham Quang Vinh joined the army to protect the Fatherland. In 1985, in a fierce battle to protect the northern border, Mr. Vinh was injured and had to retreat to the rear with 30 pieces of bullets still embedded in his body. In 1986, he was demobilized with a 4/4 class disabled certificate.
Mr. Vinh shared: “After being discharged from the army, I returned to work in the commune, but due to economic pressure, I had to do many other jobs such as trading, working as a construction worker, working as a construction worker... to make a living. Whenever I encountered difficulties, I thought that I was a soldier, no matter how difficult it was, I must not retreat, must try to overcome, strive to rise up to be worthy of the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers. After a period of working in many units and enterprises, I realized the potential in the field of exploiting construction materials and construction works, so I and a comrade, also a war invalid, established a business operating in this field.”
In 2001, CCB Pham Quang Vinh established Phu Vinh - Vinh Phuc Company Limited with the main business lines being construction of civil works, traffic works, irrigation works, lakes, dams, bridges; leveling project sites; buying, selling, and consigning machinery, equipment, and spare parts of all kinds; exploiting and trading construction materials.
In the early days of its establishment, the company had only 10 employees and limited technical equipment. However, with the determination, perseverance and bravery of a soldier, CCB Pham Quang Vinh managed the company to overcome initial difficulties. Construction projects with guaranteed quality and progress have helped Phu Vinh - Vinh Phuc Company Limited build trust and reputation with customers.
Up to now, the company has undertaken hundreds of projects, with increasing revenue, reaching 30 - 50 billion VND/year; creating regular jobs for nearly 100 workers with an income of 9 - 10 million VND/person/month; many of whom are war invalids, war veterans, and children of war veterans.
Not only active on the economic development front, veteran Pham Quang Vinh also actively participates in supporting charitable and humanitarian activities and patriotic emulation movements in the locality. Typically, supporting the construction of gratitude houses for veterans (supporting 30 million VND each year), searching for martyrs' remains, organizing visits to old battlefields for veterans; visiting and helping veteran association members and children of veterans with serious illnesses... Responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new countryside", Mr. Vinh voluntarily donated 240m2 of land to build rural roads, supporting the village with funds for site clearance, building fences... totaling more than 110 million VND.
With his achievements in production, business and contributions to social security activities, gratitude, veteran Pham Quang Vinh has been recognized by the Vietnam Veterans Association as a good production and business member at the Central level for many consecutive years; and has been awarded many Certificates of Merit by the People's Committee of Tam Duong district, the Provincial Veterans Association, and the Provincial People's Committee. He is a shining example of the spirit of overcoming difficulties, daring to think, daring to do, and being compassionate for the younger generation to follow.
