On March 25, Da Nang City started a project to renovate the drainage system and lay underground information and lighting cables on four inner-city roads in Hai Chau and Thanh Khe districts.
The renovated inner-city roads include Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem streets.
The project has a total investment of more than 280 billion VND, aiming to improve urban aesthetics, ensure drainage capacity, meet the needs of tourism and economic development, as well as improve the quality of traffic infrastructure in the central area of Da Nang.

The project includes upgrading the drainage system, burying power lines, communication cables and lighting, replacing and planting more trees, relocating the water supply system, installing additional fire hydrants, curbing and resurfacing sidewalks with natural granite, as well as upgrading reinforced asphalt concrete on these four routes with a total length of 6.94 km. This project is expected to be completed in 2026.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh said that this project is one of the events to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the City Party Committee and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City.
According to the Chairman of Da Nang City, this is also the first step in the plan to renovate the infrastructure of the remaining inner-city roads, aiming to create a spacious appearance for the city center, better serving tourism development and people's living needs, towards a green, clean and beautiful city.
Mr. Le Trung Chinh requested the construction unit to strictly manage and operate the project, ensuring progress and quality, while minimizing impacts on traffic and people's lives.
At the same time, the Department of Construction is requested to send traffic inspectors to assist in regulating traffic during rush hours to minimize congestion.
