Air route development orientation - "leverage" for Da Nang tourism in 2026
On November 11, at the Hotel Industry Strategy Workshop held in Da Nang , Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham - Director of Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center presented a plan to promote tourism and develop new flight routes for 2026.
According to Ms. Tham, aviation continues to be the main means of transporting visitors to Da Nang - the city currently records about 40,000 flights/year, an increase of 20% compared to 2024.
“The number of international flights to Da Nang increased by 6.4%, while domestic flights increased by 23.2%. Da Nang International Airport is still a strategic trading center, connecting major hubs such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Nha Trang, Buon Ma Thuot...”, Ms. Tham said.

By 2026, Da Nang tourism industry aims to open 1-2 new international routes to Chu Lai airport, while maintaining and expanding the existing international flight network.
The city will also promote links between domestic and international routes to increase the number of transit passengers, especially from Northeast Asian markets - an area with increasing flight frequency and tourism demand.
According to the “Flight Schedule Overview” report, the period from late 2025 to early 2026 will continue to maintain a positive growth trend, reflecting the strong recovery of international tourism and stable demand from the domestic market.
The peak period from December 2025 to February 2026 will see an average of 140-142 flights per day, with a sharp increase in the number of passengers from Korea, Japan, Singapore and the Philippines due to the demand for Christmas and New Year holidays. This is also considered the "golden" time for Da Nang to carry out promotional activities, advertise and connect with international markets.
Ms. Tham emphasized that the 2026 communication strategy will have the theme “New Da Nang - New Experience”, aiming at a dynamic, creative message and rich experiences. “This will be the “key lever” to help Da Nang tourism industry achieve its impressive growth target next year,” she said.
According to the plan, the number of visitors in 2026 is expected to reach 19.5 million, an increase of 12% compared to 2025. Of which, international visitors will reach about 8.9 million (up 17%) and domestic visitors will reach about 10.6 million (up 8%). Total revenue from accommodation, food and tourism is expected to reach more than 71,000 billion VND, an increase of nearly 19% compared to the previous year.
A series of new promotion, advertising and event policies
Also at the conference, the Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center announced many policies to promote and advertise new destinations - expected to bring a "boost" to tourism in 2026.
Notably, the policy of attracting KOLs and KOCs, targeting young customers and independent tourists (FIT) through social networking platforms, aims to spread the image of a "livable city" in a more natural and intimate way.
In addition, the MICE tourism policy (conferences, seminars, and awards) has been upgraded with additional benefits for large-scale groups, helping Da Nang maintain its position as the leading MICE destination in the Central region.
In addition, two segments of wedding tourism and school tourism are also focused on, to meet the trend of combining experience and education, while stimulating demand for high-end accommodation, culinary and event organization services.
The city also aims to attract international corporations and travel companies to organize events in Da Nang, in parallel with cooperating with OTA (online travel agency) platforms to expand destination brand coverage.

Information on restored and new flight routes from October 26
In particular, the 2026 Tourism Stimulus Program will be implemented synchronously with airlines, shipping lines and railways, helping to diversify means of transport to Da Nang and promote growth of domestic and international tourists.
More than 50 unique events and festivals are also being prepared for 2026, including: Da Nang Food Tour - an international food festival honoring the culinary culture of the Central region; Da Nang International Film Festival - gathering domestic and foreign filmmakers; Technology and Innovation Forum in the Hotel Industry - HORECFEX 2026, where technology trends and artificial intelligence (AI) in hotel management are updated...
In addition to the presentation by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, the workshop also recorded the sharing from Mr. Pham Ngoc Loi - Director of Digital Transformation of People's Court, Phu Long, about the application of AI in hotel management strategy - a trend that is comprehensively changing the accommodation experience and operations of the Vietnamese hotel industry.
