The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a document directing theeducation sector and localities to implement a plan to prioritize receiving students who are children of officials, civil servants and public employees of Quang Nam province after the province's merger.
This policy was issued in the context that the Prime Minister approved the Project on rearranging and reorganizing administrative units at all levels in Decision No. 759/QD-TTg dated April 14, 2025. Accordingly, Quang Nam province and Da Nang city will merge into a single administrative unit named Da Nang city, with the political -administrative center located in Da Nang at present.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to develop a plan to receive and prioritize enrollment for children of officials, civil servants and public employees of Quang Nam province who are working at agencies and units subject to the merger; ensuring uninterrupted learning, especially in preschool, primary and secondary schools.
Provide specific instructions to local schools on how to flexibly receive applications, facilitate school transfers and admissions according to regulations. Coordinate with the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province to grasp the number of students who are children of officials, civil servants and public employees who need to transfer to Da Nang to study.

The People's Committees of districts are required to direct the local Department of Education and Training to review the needs and develop plans for student allocation in accordance with the physical conditions and student numbers of each school. Public schools must proactively accept students who are children of officials, civil servants and public employees from Quang Nam who are transferred, rotated or are working in Da Nang. Priority should be given to schools near the parents' residence or workplace.
The document also emphasizes that the organization of enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year must be on schedule, ensuring accuracy, fairness, seriousness, and safety. Relevant information such as enrollment routes, quotas, time, and enrollment methods must be fully disclosed to the public.
Along with that, Da Nang continues to implement solutions to improve the quality of education such as: Strengthening facilities, maintaining reasonable student numbers, organizing two sessions/day for primary school, avoiding overload at public schools. The investigation of the number of school-age children, zoning and assigning enrollment targets must be close to reality, in order to ensure enough places for students throughout the city after the merger.
On the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City said that it had sent a document to the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province regarding the review of the learning needs of children of officials, civil servants and public employees of Quang Nam province.
