The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Da Nang City Police has simultaneously deployed many professional measures, continuously detecting and cracking down on many cases related to the trafficking, transportation and illegal use of drugs. Since the beginning of the year, the unit has detected and handled more than 1,600 cases of illegal drug use.

On August 4, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Da Nang City Police, said that over the past several days, the unit has discovered and handled many cases of illegal transportation and use of drugs.

Specifically, on August 1, the unit discovered and caught red-handed 4 subjects in the act of "organizing illegal drug use" at a hotel on Nguyen Cong Tru Street, An Hai Ward. The subjects include: Nguyen Long Vu (born in 1999), Truong Thi Bich Hanh (born in 1995), Pham Phan Nhu Y (born in 2004) and Nguyen Ba Phong (born in 1990), all of whom are locals.

After a period of establishing a project and monitoring, when collecting enough documents and evidence, on the night of August 1, the authorities raided the private home of Nguyen Nhat Huy (born in 1996, residing in An Khe ward), seizing nearly 100g of white crystalline powder (suspected to be ketamine) and 100 tablets (suspected to be ecstasy).

Huy confessed to buying the drugs for 58 million VND via the Telegram app to resell for profit. A dangerous drug ring was promptly dismantled, contributing to cleaning up the area.

Also on the night of August 1, from 0:15 a.m. to dawn the same day, Da Nang police continued to arrest Dang Dinh Can (born in 1990) and Thai Cong Tung (born in 1979) at the intersection of Le Dai Hanh and Nguyen Huu Tho for illegal possession of drugs . The seized evidence included 1 package of crystal meth, 2 mobile phones, and 1 motorbike.

Expanding the investigation, the authorities continued to issue an emergency detention order against Phan Quoc Huy (born in 1982) for drug trafficking.

According to Da Nang City Police, in the past time, the functional forces have discovered and arrested 248 cases/480 subjects illegally buying, selling, transporting, and storing drugs, inspected, detected, and handled 1,621 cases of illegal drug use; seized: 520.88g of heroin, 4.044kg of synthetic drugs, 4,500.25g of marijuana, 1,800ml of Methadone.
