Special art program "May Gifts for Him"

On the evening of May 14, a special art program called “May Gifts for Him” took place at the Hanoi Opera House. Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission attended the program.

Also attending the program were Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; General Director of Vietnam Television Nguyen Thanh Lam. Also attending the program were leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, Hanoi City, press agencies and a large number of art lovers.

The art program "May Gifts for Him" ​​was directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Culture Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Music and Dance Theater to organize and perform on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025). This is also an art program with profound political and cultural significance, expressing the deep gratitude and boundless love of the people for President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader, Hero of National Liberation, and Outstanding Cultural Celebrity. Through outstanding art performances, the program affirms the historical role, ideological stature and great legacy that President Ho Chi Minh left for the Vietnamese revolution and for the development process of the nation.

In the calm, emotional space of art, “May Gifts for Him” recreates the journey of President Ho Chi Minh’s life and noble revolutionary career through music, lyrics, choreography, projection art and precious documentary footage. In part I of the program - “The One Who Seeks the Shape of the Country” - the audience has the opportunity to enjoy again the work “Ho Chi Minh, the Most Beautiful Name”; the drama and song “Ho Chi Minh - Red Memories of Uncle Ho’s Trip”, the scene “The Words of the Departure”, “Footprints Ahead”; dance combined with Hologram projection “White Winters”; Vi and Giam melodies “From Sen Village”, “You Are the Light”.

Part II has the theme “The Flag of Peace” including the following performances: “Singing in the Pac Bo Forest”; “Praise to President Ho”; “Songs for Uncle Ho”; “The Right to Live in Peace”; the medley “Who Loves Uncle Ho Chi Minh More Than Children - Uncle Ho, He Gave Me Everything”; the complex scene “Vow to Follow His Will - He Is the Faith of Certain Victory”. The highlight of Part II is the reportage “Ho Chi Minh - The Flag for Peace and Global Spread”. Through this reportage, we see again the image of the young man Nguyen Ai Quoc leaving from Nha Rong Wharf to find a way to save the country. His journey on the path to national liberation was arduous but always filled with faith and clearly demonstrated Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, carrying the light of peace, justice and forgiveness.

Part III with the theme “Forever Shines His Name - Ho Chi Minh” includes many songs that have been around for years about President Ho Chi Minh: “He is the light”, “Ho Chi Minh's song”, “Offering Him the spring song”…

The program “May Gifts for Him” is directed by Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. People's Artist Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts, directs the production. Meritorious Artist Nguyen Hai Linh, journalist Nguyen Anh Vu, Editor-in-Chief of the Culture Newspaper, direct the production. Meritorious Artist Truong Bac, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung are general directors. People's Artist Quang Vinh conducts the orchestra.

The program has the participation of many famous artists: People's Artist Thu Hien, People's Artist Hong Luu, People's Artist Truong Giang, Meritorious Artist Le Giang, Meritorious Artist To Nga, Meritorious Artist Luong Huy, Meritorious Artist Truong Bac, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung, Meritorious Artist Thanh Mai, Meritorious Artist Tran Lin and many artists from the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theater, Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theater, Vietnam National Academy of Music, Vietnam Drama Theater, Vietnam Opera and Ballet Theater...
