Northern region begins to have continuous heavy rain

Forecast, today and tonight (May 15), the Northwest and Viet Bac regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 20-40mm, some places over 70mm (thunderstorms concentrated in the morning and night).

The Central Highlands and the South have localized heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm.

Heavy rain occurred in many places across the country.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
