Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai said that during the revision of the Advertising Law, a number of issues related to profiteering from advertising activities arose, which were promptly supplemented by the drafting agency.

In particular, it adds the responsibility of celebrities and influencers on the internet in advertising. In particular, it increases the level of penalties and handling of violations in advertising activities.

To ensure further feasibility, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai suggested that it is necessary to focus on, strengthen and assign the Government to specify specific and clear responsibilities when there is an incident, who is responsible for the stages of advertising censorship and controlling advertising content on social networking platforms and mass media.

" Recently, when giving opinions on the meeting regulations, a delegate suggested adding prohibited acts in the parliament such as prohibiting costumes and accessories with business logos, commercial slogans, personal symbols... which can easily cause misunderstandings about representative interests. Are these things included in advertising activities? ", the Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee raised the issue.

Citing the provisions of the draft Law, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai wondered whether the National Assembly deputies wearing costumes and logos when speaking in the hall would convey advertising to the recipients - voters and viewers?

The Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee said that there will be guidance because this will not only appear in the session but also when meeting voters. It will include regulations on what kind of clothing to wear, and whether or not it is allowed to use any type of clothing related to advertising for any business.

" These are emerging issues, and we are concerned about whether it is profitable to ban them ," said Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai.

Discussing this issue, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that delegates wearing branded shirts is not an advertising activity.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that only when there are commercial and communication elements, contracts and agreements with brands, and advertisers receive material benefits from this, is it advertising.

Therefore, with wearing branded shirts in parliament, the Minister emphasized that National Assembly delegates can "wear them with peace of mind".
