Nha Trang University has a new principal

Dr. Quach Hoai Nam has just been appointed as principal of Nha Trang University.

The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a decision on recognizing the principal of Nha Trang University for the 2020-2025 term.

Accordingly, the decision recognized Dr. Quach Hoai Nam, Vice Principal of Nha Trang University, to hold the position of Principal of this university, from August 14.

Mr. Quach Hoai Nam (born in 1974, from Thai Binh (old), is a PhD in marine engineering, he is also a former student of Nha Trang University.

Before being appointed as principal, Mr. Nam studied for his master's and doctorate degrees at this school, after which he was a senior lecturer and vice principal of the school.

Nha Trang University was formerly the Faculty of Fisheries of Hanoi Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, established on August 1, 1959, then this faculty was separated and named the School of Fisheries in 1966.

In 1976, the school moved from Hai Phong City to Nha Trang City (now Bac Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa) and changed its name to University of Seafood (in 1977) and University of Fisheries (in 1980). It was officially named Nha Trang University from July 2006.

Currently, the school is training 37 undergraduate majors with more than 70 training programs/majors, 17 master's majors, and 11 doctoral majors.
