Campaign to support the Cuban people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (1960-2025)

QTO - 2025 is a sacred milestone, commemorating 65 years of steadfast friendship between Vietnam and Cuba. Throughout that journey, our two peoples have shared the ups and downs, stood side by side in the struggle for independence, building and defending the Fatherland. In the heart of every Vietnamese person, the immortal words of leader Fidel Castro in 1966 are always engraved: "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice even its blood!" - an steadfast oath expressing exemplary, loyal, unconditional international solidarity.

For Quang Tri - the resilient land, once the frontline of the Fatherland - that sentiment is deeper than ever. Quang Tri people always remember the image of leader Fidel Castro - the first and only foreign leader to set foot in the liberated area of ​​Quang Tri on September 16, 1973, amidst the rain of bombs and bullets, to encourage and motivate the fighting spirit of our army and people. From that historical mark, more than 100 Cuban experts, engineers and doctors did not mind the distance and hardship, working side by side with the people of Quang Tri and Quang Binh to build and operate the Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital, becoming a living symbol of loyal and pure international solidarity.

Today, the Cuban people - those loyal friends - are facing countless difficulties due to the prolonged economic crisis, epidemics and consecutive natural disasters. With the consensus of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the People's Committee, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society , the Quang Tri Provincial Red Cross Society launched the program "65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship" throughout the province, as a bridge of friendship extending from the glorious past to the present.

We earnestly call on all cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, businesses, organizations, agencies, units and each citizen of Quang Tri - with a heart of compassion and loyalty - to join hands to contribute, show affection and responsibility to the brotherly Cuban people.
