Mr. Giang Seo Van, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province, said that with the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Creativity - Development", the 16th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lao Cai province, term 2024-2029, is expected to take place in 2 days, July 15-16, 2024, with the title "Promoting democracy, strengthening social consensus, strengthening the building of great national unity, contributing to realizing the aspiration to build Lao Cai province more and more prosperous and happy".

The Congress set out a number of specific targets such as: 95% of cadres and civil servants in the system of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province proficiently use information technology in Front activities; 100% of the Fatherland Front Working Committees in residential areas apply information technology and social networks in propaganda activities, receiving and reflecting the people's situation to meet the requirements of the task; actively coordinate with member organizations, all levels and sectors to mobilize and support the construction of Great Unity houses, eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 100% of poor and near-poor households that are eligible to build houses, making an important contribution to the province's task of striving to complete the work in the area by the end of 2025; continue to innovate and improve the quality of social supervision and criticism work. Every year, the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presides over the supervision of at least 4 contents, each socio -political organization in the province supervises at least 3 contents, the district-level Fatherland Front supervises at least 2 contents or more...

Regarding the personnel structure, it is expected that the Congress will consult and elect 85 members to join the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee for the 2024-2029 term with the composition and structure combined in accordance with regulations. Of which, the re-election rate is 60%; the first-time participation rate is 40%; the non-Party rate is 27.05%; the ethnic minority rate is 42.35%; religion rate is 3.5%; the female rate is 36.11%. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee consists of 7 members including: Chairman, 3 Vice Chairmen, 3 Standing Members.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Hoang Cong Thuy highly appreciated the meticulous and serious preparation of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province in preparing for the Provincial Fatherland Front Congress; at the same time, he suggested that, based on the synthesis and comments from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province should absorb and complete it to suit the actual situation. The Congress program needs to be arranged appropriately, concisely, and ensure time. The presentations at the Congress need to carry the identity and characteristics of the province. In addition, the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front also needs to divide into discussion groups according to each topic to strongly promote the opinions of the delegates, contributing to perfecting the content of the action program for the 2024-2029 term.

Suggesting that the political report presented to the Congress needs to be reviewed and supplemented with illustrative data to clarify the typical and outstanding results of the entire term, Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy said that, regarding the directions and tasks for the 2024-2029 term, it is necessary to add the implementation of 7 tasks and solutions of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated November 24, 2023 of the 13th Party Central Committee on "Continuing to promote the tradition and strength of great national unity, building our country to be more and more prosperous and happy"; continuing to innovate thinking and working methods and promoting the application of information technology in implementing tasks.

Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy also noted the need to further promote people's mastery through the study of 10 thematic groups on supervision, criticism, and Party and government building that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee has deployed. Along with that, it is necessary to improve the effectiveness of people's foreign affairs and work with overseas Vietnamese through strengthening the role of the Front and its local member organizations in consolidating the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and China, building a peaceful , friendly, cooperative and developed border. Regarding personnel work, it is necessary to select the structure and composition according to the guidance of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, thereby selecting dedicated people to contribute to the work of the Front in the 2024-2029 term.
