The 2024 National Buddhist Journalism Awards Ceremony was held by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on the afternoon of June 6 at Quan Su Pagoda, Hanoi .
Held for the first time, the 2024 National Buddhist Journalism Award received 534 entries, including 288 print and electronic newspaper entries; 228 radio and television entries and 18 photojournalism entries.
Most of the works participating in the Buddhist Journalism Awards are of media quality, honestly reflecting the spirit of compassion, wisdom of Buddhism and its connection with social life.
However, in the photojournalism and radio journalism categories, no first prize was awarded in this award ceremony.
There were 39 awards given to authors, press agencies and individuals with 33 awards for 5 categories: print (8 awards), online (6 awards), radio (6 awards), television (9 awards) and press photo (4 awards).
1 prize for the Press Agency with many works entering the final round; 1 prize for the Individual with many works entering the contest; 3 prizes for Pilgrimage to Buddhist relics in India; 1 special prize.
The special prize for the 12-episode television reportage series Linh Thieng Gioi Phat by the group of authors of Nghe An Radio and Television Station received high consensus.
The series of reports tells the story of the early appearance of Buddhism in Nghe An as well as the sacred pagodas in Nghe An today, and the role of Buddhism here in the historical flow of Vietnamese Buddhism.

The first prize for print journalism went to a group of authors from Nhan Dan newspaper with the work To keep religion attached to life (2 parts), published in Thoi Nay publication. Giac Ngo newspaper received a separate award for being the press agency with the most works in the final round (18 works).
In the electronic newspaper category, journalist Cao Thi Thuy Giang (VietnamPlus, Vietnam News Agency) with a series of works titled Buddhism accompanies the community to create miracles of life (4 episodes) won first prize.
At the award ceremony, the organizing committee also launched the second National Buddhist Journalism Award in 2025.
