Artist Le Sa Long, 57 years old, said he inherited his passion for reading from his father, journalist, writer, and artist Thac Duc (aka Le Thuoc, 1938-2003). The artist said: “My father had a very large family bookshelf in his hometown Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh. I also had a side job drawing covers and book layouts.”
“In today's technological age, the habit of reading books still helps us enrich our knowledge, helps an artist like me develop my imagination, soar my soul, provides important reference materials for me to create portrait paintings of characters, and connect with my beloved author friends and literary friends,” artist Long confided.
On the occasion of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025, artist Le Sa Long completed his latest set of paintings of portraits of 12 Ho Chi Minh City Reading Culture Ambassadors, size 50x70cm, in watercolor sketch style, pastel, acrylic materials...
