However, with the strong development of technology and changes in thinking and consumption trends of modern society, traditional pottery in general and Bien Hoa pottery in particular are facing significant challenges, especially in attracting and retaining the young generation.
Bien Hoa Pottery Festival: Connecting young people with traditional pottery
In that context, the Bien Hoa Pottery Festival 2025 has brought a positive signal, blowing a "new wind" into the traditional cultural space. The event not only attracted a large number of local people but also attracted special attention from young people. Through diverse and attractive activities, the festival has opened a "door" for young people to have a more comprehensive view of the history, culture and value of Bien Hoa's traditional pottery craft.

Mr. Dinh Chi Bao (English Pedagogy student, Saigon University) shared: “As a resident of Bien Hoa, I am impressed with the Bien Hoa Ceramic Festival 2025, especially the unique ceramic products that represent the long history of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai . This is an activity that contributes to spreading and connecting the traditional and cultural values of Bien Hoa ceramics in particular and traditional ceramic villages across the country in general to the people, especially young people like me”.
The festival is not only a promotional activity but also a "dialogue" between the past and the present. Young people can directly admire traditional ceramic products, listen to stories about the formation and development of the craft village, thereby arousing pride in the cultural heritage of their homeland.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa, designer of Viet Thanh Ceramics Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa city) said that young people are increasingly interested in Bien Hoa ceramic products. Recently, in addition to traditional product lines, the company has also promoted the development of many product lines specifically for young people, combining the quintessence of traditional ceramics with the tastes and aesthetics of young people.

At the same time, the event is also an opportunity for them to approach dynamic ceramic businesses who have been making efforts to innovate and create to integrate Bien Hoa ceramics into the modern market.
One of the important highlights of the Festival is that ceramic enterprises have boldly applied technology to production and marketing. Ceramic products are no longer simply classical in appearance but have "put on" new, unique designs, meeting the diverse tastes of many customers, especially young people.
The use of online platforms and social networks to promote products also shows the acumen and adaptability of Bien Hoa ceramic artisans and businesses in the digital age. This has contributed to eliminating the prejudice of a "dry" or "outdated" traditional profession in the eyes of young people.

Nowadays, the young generation not only seeks pure cultural or historical values, but also wants to see a harmonious combination of tradition and modernity.
Through the Festival, most young people expect handicraft products to not only be beautiful in form but also highly applicable in contemporary life, expressing their own personality and style.

In addition, the transparency in the production process, the meaningful story behind each product and the sustainable values that traditional crafts bring are also factors that attract the attention of young people. They want to participate in a creative community where traditional values are preserved and respected but there is still room for innovation and creative experiences.
However, to truly "preserve the soul" of the craft village and attract the long-term participation of the younger generation, efforts from one event are not enough. What young people expect most are practical experiences and highly interactiveeducational programs that help them both understand the culture and history, and directly participate in the creative process and pottery making process.
At the seminar on Solutions to preserve and develop traditional fine art pottery in the integration period recently held in the series of events of Bien Hoa Traditional Pottery Festival 2025, Principal of Dong Nai Decorative Arts College Truong Duc Cuong said that seminars, practical connection activities, and development of ceramic tourism villages will be an effective bridge to arouse passion and love for the traditional craft of Bien Hoa pottery.
The school hopes that in the near future, the Bien Hoa Ceramic Road model will be invested in properly to connect with the people, especially students and young people. Thereby, contributing to spreading traditional values, promoting the Bien Hoa ceramic brand.
In the context of current integration, the preservation and development of this traditional craft village requires synchronous solutions and the cooperation of the whole community. In particular, there needs to be close coordination between authorities at all levels, businesses and the community in creating a favorable environment for young people to learn, develop and contribute to the sustainable development of the craft village.

Support policies on capital, vocational training, and product promotion will be important motivations to encourage the young generation to stick with the traditional pottery profession of their homeland.
The 2025 Bien Hoa Ceramic Festival has come to an end, but the echoes of this event still linger in the hearts of Dong Nai people, especially the young. This is an important start, a necessary "push" to arouse the love and responsibility of the young generation for the precious cultural heritage of their homeland.
