On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Nguyen Tan Cuong kindly visited, encouraged, and shared the pain of injuries with the wounded and sick soldiers; at the same time, expressed special feelings and infinite gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers who devoted part of their blood, bones, and youth to the Fatherland. General Nguyen Tan Cuong hopes that the wounded and sick soldiers will continue to promote the good nature and tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", maintain their health, strive to overcome injuries and illnesses; and live happily and healthily.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong affirmed that generations of cadres and soldiers of the People's Army always remember the merits and carry out well the activities of "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember its source" through practical actions such as: visiting, giving gifts, helping families of martyrs, caring for wounded and sick soldiers, and supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. That is the responsibility, sacred sentiment, and deep gratitude of cadres and soldiers of the entire army towards the previous generation in the struggle for national independence.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong respectfully thanked the staff of Duy Tien War Invalids Nursing Center for their dedication and responsibility in nurturing and caring for wounded and sick soldiers, despite many difficulties. He hoped that the staff of Duy Tien War Invalids Nursing Center would continue to uphold their tradition and take good care of the material and spiritual lives of wounded and sick soldiers, who had lost a part of their blood and bones for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong also requested: The Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, all levels, sectors, and armed forces of the province continue to pay attention, care for, and provide material and spiritual support to wounded and sick soldiers and families of policy beneficiaries. He hoped that wounded and sick soldiers would always promote the good nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", maintain their health, overcome injuries and illnesses, and strive to stabilize their lives.
Currently, Duy Tien Nursing Center for Wounded and Sick Soldiers is managing, treating, nurturing and implementing policies and regimes for 52 seriously wounded and sick soldiers from 15 provinces and cities nationwide, including wounded soldiers from two periods: the war against America and the border war to protect the Fatherland and 1 martyr's relative. The wounded and sick soldiers at the Center all have a reduced working capacity of 81% or more, have special wounds and diseases. The work of caring for wounded and sick soldiers faces many difficulties.
In order to facilitate the health care of wounded and sick soldiers, General Nguyen Tan Cuong presented the Center with an ambulance and many meaningful gifts. The leaders of Military Region 3 Command and other units and localities also presented gifts to the Center, encouraging wounded and sick soldiers to continue their efforts to overcome difficulties and disabilities, live happily and healthily, and be exemplary models for the younger generation to follow.
On this occasion, the delegation visited and presented funds to support the construction and repair of "Houses of Gratitude", "Houses of Great Solidarity" and gave gifts to policy families in Tien Son ward.
