General Nguyen Tan Cuong presented the book "History of 60 years of Vietnam-Cuba defense relations (1960-2020)" in Spanish to the Fidel Castro Ruz Center.

The Fidel Castro Ruz Center is a place to collect, preserve, conserve and honor the legacy of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, serving the purpose of researching and disseminating Fidel Castro's ideological values to future generations. It also regularly organizes conferences, seminars, meetings, competitions, develops academic events, teaches and conducts research projects, and produces media works related to Fidel.

The construction of the Fidel Castro Center has a special significance. In accordance with the will of leader Fidel Castro during his lifetime, that after his death, no public place would be named after him nor would any statues be erected to him. Respecting that wish, at the end of 2016, the Cuban National Assembly enacted a law prohibiting the use of Fidel's name and image for memorials and public landmarks. However, this law allows exceptions for facilities that aim to research and disseminate Fidel's ideology. Therefore, the Cuban State issued a special decree to establish the Fidel Castro Ruz Center.

Established on November 25, 2021, to date, the Fidel Castro Ruz Center has welcomed many visitors to visit and learn about the life and great career of leader Fidel Castro.

Writing in the guestbook, General Nguyen Tan Cuong expressed his honor and emotion to visit the Fidel Castro Ruz Center and believed that the special Cuba-Vietnam relationship founded and painstakingly built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel will always be respected, nurtured and developed by generations of leaders of the Party, State, people and armies of the two countries, becoming an exemplary relationship of the times.
