( Bqp.vn ) - On the afternoon of December 19, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense , General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense received leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the Army of other countries on the occasion of their visit to Vietnam to attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. Also attending the reception were Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Exhibition Steering Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense organizes the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. These are major events of great significance, marking the growth and maturity of the Vietnam People's Army. This year's exhibition continues to receive the support and active participation of many international partners, friends, and defense enterprises participating in the exhibition, vividly demonstrating the solidarity and friendship of the Ministry of National Defense and the armies of other countries for Vietnam in general and the Vietnam People's Army in particular.

Affirming the significance of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, General Phan Van Giang said that the event not only contributes to strengthening cooperation in the field of defense industry between Vietnam and other countries, but also creates conditions for countries to meet and exchange, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and trust, thereby promoting cooperation in the defense field. Through defense industry cooperation, countries improve their defense capacity, together addressing common security challenges in accordance with the basic principles of international law.

At this exhibition, Vietnam hopes that defense enterprises from Vietnam and other countries will exchange information, introduce their capabilities and areas of strength in order to enhance mutual understanding, create conditions for finding future cooperation opportunities; proactively introduce promising ideas and cooperation projects, especially joint venture projects to produce modern, dual-use products that can meet the needs of regional and global markets.
