Without setting aside the stabilization fund, RON95-III gasoline price increased slightly by 33 VND per liter

The prices of E5 RON92 and RON95 gasoline increased slightly, while oil products were adjusted down by more than VND200 per liter, starting from 3:00 p.m. today (May 29).

According to the joint decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, the ceiling price of E5RON92 gasoline is 19,196 VND/liter, an increase of 74 VND/liter compared to the current price; the new price of RON95-III gasoline is 19,565 VND/liter, an increase of 33 VND/liter compared to the current price.

During this period, diesel oil decreased by 269 VND/liter, to 17,136 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 206 VND/liter, the new price is 17,108 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 248 VND, to 16,264 VND/kg.

During this period, the joint ministries did not set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products. As for the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the Price Stabilization Fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,083 billion VND, remaining stable compared to the most recent announcement period.

In the most recent adjustment (May 29), E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 58 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 62 VND/liter. However, in this adjustment period, diesel increased by 177 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 88 VND/liter and fuel oil increased by 352 VND/kg.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the period of petroleum price management will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented on Thursday every week.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If the 5th day coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the 4th day immediately preceding it. If the 5th day coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.
