With a passion for technology, Captain Pham Duc Canh has researched the application of information technology, built a website with many utilities, digitized lectures and documents, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of political education work at Regiment 8.
During the review session of the lesson “Maintaining and strengthening internal solidarity, military-civilian solidarity, and international solidarity of the Vietnam People’s Army” at Company 3 (Battalion 4, Regiment 8), different from the traditional review method, soldiers in the unit answered multiple-choice questions related to the content of the lesson on the website built and developed by Captain Pham Duc Canh and his teammates.

The website he built includes question sets for each lesson and a set of general questions, with two options: Mock test and test, helping soldiers to review and units to organize tests. In particular, the website also has the function of scoring, exporting results reports, and ranking each soldier, thereby helping political commissars and commanders at all levels to evaluate and grasp the quality of political study of soldiers much more quickly and easily.
Private Tran Van Phuc, Soldier of Squad 8, Platoon 9, Company 3 said: “Reviewing by answering multiple choice questions on the website helps us systematize all the knowledge we have learned, which is very new and interesting, different from holding books or notebooks to review like before. Not only that, thanks to receiving the results and rankings right after the test, the website also creates a competitive atmosphere, helping us to have the motivation to study and strive more seriously and effectively.”
With the desire to apply information technology to overcome difficulties and shortcomings and improve the quality of Party and political activities at the unit, Captain Pham Duc Canh has worked hard to digitize the system of political lectures, edit presentation slides, illustrative video clips, integrate visual effects and internal radio news to build an "internal radio website and support propaganda work". Although it has just been put into use, the website has been highly appreciated by cadres at all levels at Regiment 8 for its practical effectiveness.

Captain Nguyen Ngoc Duc, Political Commissar of Company 5, Battalion 5, Regiment 8, said: “Previously, internal broadcasting in our unit had many difficulties in unifying content and timing between the Regiment and the Battalions. Thanks to the online broadcasting feature on the website, every day, we only need to access and broadcast on time, and the important news and instructions of commanders at all levels are broadcast uniformly throughout the Regiment. Not only that, even when performing tasks far from the unit, the number of troops is dispersed, and there is no time to listen to the news on time, commanders at all levels can still broadcast the news for soldiers to listen to using computers or smartphones without having to gather troops at the unit or being constrained by time.”
Not stopping there, according to the Political Commissar of Company 5 and many officers at Regiment 8, the website also acts as an electronic library dedicated to propaganda work. Thanks to a very rich online document system including: Legal documents, useful TV programs, political lectures, etc., political officers can access, connect to look up and learn from experience anywhere, anytime.
Thanks to its practical application, the internal radio website and propaganda support website developed by Party Committee Pham Duc Canh was awarded the Encouragement Prize in the 5th Hai Phong City Technical Innovation Contest.

Captain Pham Duc Canh said: "My teammates and I will continue to research and integrate more features into this website and coordinate to expand the scope of application not only limited to propaganda work but also to other areas of work at the unit."
Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Van Manh, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Regiment 8, said: “Comrade Canh is a very sharp officer with a keen eye for technology, with an innovative and creative mindset. The initiatives he researched and developed have proven effective in practice, overcoming many difficulties, improving old ways of doing things, and contributing to improving the quality of task performance at the unit.”
