The group's representative said, "ILLIT" is a combination of the phrase "I will" - representing the spirit of independence and the will to adventure, the pronoun "It", symbolizing "something unique".
“There are so many things we want to do and show our audience. That also means our group has limitless potential and possibilities,” added member Moka.
Wonhee said, "When I first heard the name, I thought it fit our group perfectly. Each of us has our own identity, color, and emotions. I was really excited about the idea of the five of us coming together as ILLIT to create synergy and show many different sides."
Talking about the opening song “My World” with its unique intro and catchy melody, Yunah shared that listeners might feel like they are lost in the world of ILLIT.
Wonhee said the title track “Magnetic” describes a teenage girl’s confidence when approaching her crush. “There are a lot of strange melodies in Magnetic. The lyrics have unpredictable melodies and a heart-pounding feeling,” she added.
Looking back on her journey, Wonhee revealed that there were times when she felt quite embarrassed and awkward when standing on her first stage. Despite the short training period, she felt that she had matured significantly thanks to her dedication to practice.
"Our motto says we can be anything and it's a way to boost our confidence. When we practice, we think about our own color and the motto," Yunah said.
As for their goals, the girls hope to top the charts and win first place on a music show. Wonhee said, “It would be meaningful for us if we achieve our goals.”
“There is a bigger goal than all of us have talked about, which is to receive the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award. We want to be the best rookie of the year. This is an award we can only receive as rookies, so hopefully we can receive it,” Moka said.
