The BBC’s 100 Most Inspiring Women list celebrates exceptional women who have overcome challenges and made a difference in the world. The list is published annually at the end of the year. The BBC list celebrates women who represent strength, resilience and a desire to make a difference. They are women who have achieved incredible things in the fields of sport, science , women’s rights and the planet. Vietnamese director Xuan Phuong is among the inspirational figures in the fields of culture andeducation . According to the BBC, the 95-year-old director and journalist has lived a full life. She joined the resistance war against France at the age of 16, experiencing two wars for national independence. Ms. Xuan Phuong is described as having been a doctor, a war correspondent and a director for Vietnam Television. After retiring, she opened Lotus Gallery - one of the first private galleries in Ho Chi Minh City, with the desire to bring Vietnamese art to the world. She has given wings to domestic artists so that they can achieve great fame. Last August, Ms. Xuan Phuong also released her second memoir, sharing the process of owning her gallery. This is the next work after Ganh gai gong gong , the book that became a publishing phenomenon. The BBC wrote about Ms. Xuan Phuong: "The owner of the Lotus gallery is entering her 95th birthday and living a truly fulfilling life."
