On July 11th, Bui Quoc Thai, Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, announced that Travel & Leisure magazine (USA) published its list of the 25 most beautiful islands and archipelagos in the world for 2024 on the evening of July 9th.
Accordingly, Phu Quoc Island scored 94.41/100 points, ranking second on the list. Maldives came in first with 95.63/100 points.
The islands listed after that include Bali, Indonesia; Milos, Greece; Dominica; Crete, Greece; Hvar & Dalmatia, Croatia; Galápagos, Ecuador; Koh Samui, Thailand; Great Barrier Reef, Australia; Ischia, Italy; Cuba; Palawan, Philippines; Fiji; Golden Isles, USA; Phuket, Thailand…
“Phu Quoc is also the only representative from Vietnam on this list by Travel & Leisure. In the first six months of 2024, Phu Quoc welcomed over 3.3 million tourists ; including over 499,000 international visitors; total revenue from tourism activities exceeded 11,000 billion VND,” informed Bui Quoc Thai, Director of the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province.

The criteria for selecting islands are based on six factors: natural attractions or beaches; activities and sights; restaurants and cuisine ; friendly people; and the value the destination offers to tourists.
The 25 most beautiful islands in the world are the subject of the annual World's Best Award, which recognizes outstanding services in the tourism sector.
The award was voted on by over 700,000 readers, including international travelers and travel experts.
In its review of Phu Quoc Island, Travel & Leisure wrote: "Located off the west coast of Vietnam, the island's greatest strength is its status as an emerging tourist destination worldwide. While some Southeast Asian beaches are developing, Phu Quoc has maintained its tranquility. But that doesn't mean you can't find luxury hotels here. One example is Regent Phu Quoc, which boasts a rooftop infinity pool, and New World Phu Quoc, ranked among the top 4 best resorts in Southeast Asia and the top 100 in the world in 2024…"
