At that time, people discovered black smoke billowing from the third floor of the house, so they immediately shouted and called the fire department. When the fire broke out, the windows and main door on the third floor were all open, so the strong wind caused the fire to flare up quickly and spread in just a few minutes.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province dispatched two fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. After several minutes of effort, the fire was completely extinguished, preventing it from spreading to the lower floors and surrounding houses.
According to the scene, many items on the 3rd floor were completely burned down, including: cardboard boxes, computer cases, and especially the altar area. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Mr. Tung (homeowner) said that at the time of the fire, he was the only one at home, cleaning up mud in the kitchen area on the ground floor after the recent flood, so he did not know anything. When the neighbors shouted, he ran up and saw that the 3rd floor was engulfed in flames. According to Mr. Tung, the initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit in the altar on the 3rd floor, which always had small capacity light bulbs that were on 24/7.
The authorities are continuing to verify and clarify the cause of the incident.
