Signs that Watkins is about to come to MU

Aston Villa are closing in on a deal for striker Evann Guessand, paving the way for Ollie Watkins to leave the club this summer.

MU has special interest in Ollie Watkins.

According to The Guardian , Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Nice to sign Guessand. The Premier League side will pay 30 million euros (26 million pounds) plus an additional 5 million euros to own the Ivorian striker.

Nice even allowed the 24-year-old striker to fly to England to undergo a medical , the final step before the deal is officially completed. Guessand is expected to sign a 5-year contract with Aston Villa.

With Guessand arriving at Villa Park, Aston Villa will have a direct replacement for Watkins. The Athletic revealed that coach Unai Emery highly rates Guessand because of his youth and suitability for Aston Villa's current system.

As for Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa are likely to sell once the Guessand deal is finalised. The Premier League side will accept an offer in the region of £40-50m for the England striker.

Watkins, who scored 87 goals for Aston Villa across five seasons, also believes it is time for him to leave Villa Park for a new challenge. The striker is also keen on the prospect of joining Manchester United.
