Nutritionist Lovneet Batra, an award-winning nutrition and health coach from India, talks about the health benefits of this humble bean.

From healthy skin to brain health, snacking on peanuts in winter has a host of benefits.

1. Protein storehouse: Peanuts contain all 20 amino acids in varying proportions and are the greatest source of arginine protein.

2. Helps you feel full longer: The healthy monounsaturated fats in peanuts can stimulate hormones that help you feel full longer after eating.

3. Healthy Skin: Rich in vitamin B3, peanuts help prevent skin diseases. It also helps reduce wrinkles and dark spots.

4. Protects against cancer: A 2019 meta-analysis, after evaluating 11 studies, reported that phytosterols in peanuts reduced prostate tumor growth by more than 40% and reduced the rate of cancer spreading to other parts of the body by nearly 50%.

Like phytosterols, resveratrol in peanuts has also been shown to cut off blood supply to growing cancer tumors and inhibit the growth of cancer cells, according to the Hindustan Times.
