
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology , emphasized that intellectual property is not only a business tool, bringing advantages to large enterprises, but also a measure of creative capacity, knowledge quality, and assessment of the level of science, technology and innovation of each country.
To develop a national intellectual property system in a synchronous and sustainable manner, the issue of intellectual property education for the young generation, especially from the high school level, is one of the necessary tasks to form an intellectual property culture in the community.

Mr. Giang affirmed that early access to intellectual property for students - the stage of forming creative thinking - not only helps them understand and respect intellectual property rights, but also encourages creative thinking and fosters the spirit of entrepreneurship in the future. In addition, he also highlighted the policies of the Party and State of Vietnam to develop education and training, enhance digital capacity and creative thinking of students, thereby nurturing the foundation of access to intellectual property.
The workshop was organized to facilitate educators and managers in the ASEAN region to share experiences, update teaching methods and propose ways to integrate intellectual property into the general education program in Vietnam.

The workshop took place over 4 days, with many in-depth topics, from experts from WIPO, JPO and the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam such as: Current status of intellectual property education in Vietnam; the mindset of creative educators, with contents on creative approaches in problem solving; guidance on designing and implementing interdisciplinary lessons, along with activities; learning about copyright and related rights, patents; from classroom to market, including lean business models; inspiring entrepreneurial spirit, along with sharing from success stories; from policy making to implementation in the classroom, discussing the spillover effect of the INCIPE model in Vietnam and promoting intellectual property education...
The workshop will conclude with a Certificate Awarding Ceremony on November 28.
