Writing novels is considered an activity that bears a strong human and personal imprint. The explosion of artificial intelligence is putting the writing profession at risk of being replaced.
A report from Cambridge University surveyed nearly 400 writers, 40% said their income had decreased because of AI. More than half of novelists believe their jobs will soon disappear altogether.
Dr Clementine Collett, author of the report, warns that large language models could devalue human-created literature. Some writers argue that tech companies are “stealing brainpower” to create tools that directly compete with them. Authors' incomes are getting lower and lower, many people have to do other jobs to make a living.
Literary circles call for tightening copyright laws to protect authors and preserve the humanity of literature. Dear readers, please watch more videos : From January 1, 2026, digital products created by AI must have identification marks | Nhan Dan Newspaper
